6 General Shepherd

Games: Modern Warfare 2 And Modern Warfare 2 (2022)

Not every great character necessarily has to be a hero, even in the world of Call of Duty, and General Shepherd is the perfect example of that. Fans love him because of his villainy, not despite it.

You play through almost all of Modern Warfare 2 assuming Shepherd is one of the good guys before he’s revealed as the game’s main antagonist and the instigator of the global conflict between the American and Russian armies.

The final faceoff in the desert is a memorable scene in the franchise and lives long in the memory of everyone who plays through it. In the 2022 version of Modern Warfare 2, he’s not quite as evil, but he’s still not likable or completely trustworthy.

Discover the Art of Creating Amazing Call Of Duty Characters

The Call of Duty franchise has gained immense popularity over the years, and its characters have become iconic symbols of the series. If you’re a fan of the game, you might have thought about creating your own Call of Duty characters.

Learning to draw Call of Duty characters can be a fun and rewarding experience. Whether you want to recreate your favorite character or design your own, this step-by-step guide will teach you the techniques and skills you need to create amazing Call of Duty characters.

Step 1: Gather Reference Images

Before you start drawing, it’s essential to gather reference images of the Call of Duty character you want to create. Reference images will help you understand the character’s proportions, details, and overall design. You can find reference images on official Call of Duty websites or by doing a quick search online.

Step 2: Sketch the Basic Shapes

Once you have your reference images, start by sketching the basic shapes of the character. Use simple geometric shapes like circles, rectangles, and triangles to define the head, body, limbs, and any equipment or weapons the character may have. Don’t worry about getting every detail right at this stage; focus on capturing the overall pose and proportion.

Step 3: Refine the Details

After you have the basic shapes, it’s time to refine the details of your Call of Duty character. Start adding smaller shapes to define facial features, muscle groups, and clothing folds. Pay close attention to the reference images to accurately depict the character’s unique traits and accessories.

Step 4: Add Shadows and Highlights

To give your drawing depth and dimension, add shadows and highlights. Determine the light source in your composition and use shading techniques to depict it. Shadows should be darker in areas where light doesn’t directly hit, while highlights should be lighter in areas where light is the strongest. Experiment with different shading techniques like cross-hatching or stippling to achieve the desired effect.

Step 5: Finalize and Ink Your Drawing

Once you are satisfied with the details and shading, finalize your drawing by inking over the pencil lines. Use a pen or fine-tipped marker to add clean and crisp lines. Erase any remaining pencil lines once the ink is dry to give your drawing a polished look.

Step 6: Color Your Drawing (Optional)

If you want to take your drawing to the next level, you can add color to your Call of Duty character. Use markers, colored pencils, or digital coloring techniques to bring your drawing to life. Look at the reference images to accurately match the colors of the original character.

Step 7: Practice and Experiment

Creating amazing Call of Duty characters requires practice and experimentation. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and try different techniques. As you continue to draw, you will develop your unique style and improve your skills.

Remember, learning to draw Call of Duty characters is a process that takes time and patience. Don’t get discouraged if your first attempts don’t turn out exactly as you envision. Keep practicing, have fun, and soon you’ll be creating your own amazing Call of Duty characters.

15 Gary «Roach» Sanderson

Games: Modern Warfare 2

The main protagonist of Modern Warfare 2, you’ll play as Gary Sanderson for the majority of the game, accompanying characters such as Soap MacTavish and Ghost on numerous missions. Despite never speaking, Sanderson has remained one of the most loved playable characters in the series.

As a part of Task Force 141, Sanderson was tasked with locating and killing Makarov, the Modern Warfare series’ main villain. His death at the hands of General Shepherd remains one of the most shocking moments in the history of the franchise, with Sanderson and Ghost both being burnt alive by Shepherd.

4 Gaz

Games: Modern Warfare (2019) And Modern Warfare 2 (2022)

The Gaz from the original Modern Warfare game is very different from the one in the reboot series. The latter is a more significant character, as he’s got a much bigger role in the overall narrative.

For starters, instead of being just one of the crew, he’s playable in both of the rebooted Modern Warfare games. Also, he showcases more of a three-dimensional personality. While he’s a loyal soldier who respects his senior officers, he’s no yes-man. If he disagrees with an order or action, he will let that be known. He just wants to do what’s right, which is what makes him a likable character.

9 Vladimir Makarov

Games: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3

Arguably the most memorable villain in the Call of Duty franchise, Makarov manages to be universally despised by fans of the series, which was the main purpose of his role.

Unlike some of the other villains in the franchise, Makarov truly has no redeeming qualities, being all about anarchy and causing as much chaos as possible without any remorse for his actions.

The scene he would best be remembered for was the infamous airport massacre mission in Modern Warfare 2 in what remains the most controversial level in the history of the franchise.

3 Captain John Price

Games: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, Modern Warfare (2019), And Modern Warfare 2 (2022)

Never showing fear, Captain Price was a true leader amongst men and is probably the most iconic character in the Call of Duty series. He’s harsh, but honest, and has an extensive range of quotes that most COD players can easily recall with ease.

His classic cigar and witty comments are just some of the reasons why people loved him so much. Price even became the poster boy for the franchise for a short while, mainly due to the fact that most players associated Call of Duty with his memorable mustache-framed face.

Are you a fan of the game Call of Duty? Have you ever wanted to learn how to draw your favorite Call of Duty characters? Well, you’re in luck! In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through the process of drawing some of the most iconic characters from the Call of Duty series. So grab your pencil and paper, and let’s get started!

  1. Choose a character: Start by selecting which Call of Duty character you want to draw. Whether it’s Captain Price, Soap MacTavish, or Ghost, pick the character that you’re most excited to bring to life on paper.
  2. Gather your materials: Before we begin, make sure you have all the necessary materials. You’ll need a pencil, eraser, paper, and any additional drawing tools you prefer, such as markers or colored pencils.
  3. Reference images: Find reference images of the character you have chosen. This will help you better understand their features, proportions, and poses. Look for official artwork, screenshots, or even cosplay photos to guide your drawing.
  4. Sketching: Start by lightly sketching the basic shapes and proportions of the character’s head, body, and limbs. Use simple shapes like circles, ovals, and rectangles to outline the general structure. Don’t worry about details at this stage.
  5. Add details: Once you have the basic proportions sketched out, start adding more details. Focus on the facial features, such as eyes, nose, and mouth. Pay attention to any unique accessories or clothing that the character might have.
  6. Inking or outlining: Once you’re satisfied with your pencil sketch, you can go over it with a pen or marker to create a more defined outline. Be careful and take your time to ink or outline only the lines you want to keep, and erase any unnecessary pencil marks.
  7. Shading and coloring: Now comes the fun part – shading and coloring! Decide on the light source and add shading to give your drawing depth and dimension. You can use a variety of shading techniques, such as hatching or cross-hatching, to achieve different effects. If you prefer, you can also color your drawing using markers, colored pencils, or any other coloring tools of your choice.
  8. Final touches: After you’re done shading and coloring, take a step back and assess your drawing. Make any necessary adjustments or additions to enhance the overall appearance. Add any additional details or textures that will bring your drawing to life.
  9. Show it off: Finally, once you’re satisfied with your artwork, share it with others! Display your drawing on social media, in a frame, or even create a collage of your favorite Call of Duty characters. Be proud of your creation and continue practicing to improve your drawing skills further.

Remember, drawing is a skill that takes practice and patience. Don’t be discouraged if your first attempts don’t turn out exactly as you envisioned. Keep practicing, experimenting, and having fun, and you’ll soon be able to draw Call of Duty characters like a pro!

1 Captain «Soap» MacTavish

Games: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, And Modern Warfare 2 (2022)

Captain MacTavish, who is better known as ‘Soap’ to most gamers, was not only the greatest character in the history of Call of Duty (to this point), but he has also become one of the most beloved characters in gaming, full stop. Being part of all three of the original Modern Warfare games, fans got to spend a lot of time with the character, which is why his death was so impactful, especially because most fans didn’t believe Call of Duty had the guts to kill off such a popular character.

Watching the normally steely-faced Captain Price cry over Soap’s body is a striking scene, and only cements the legacy of one of gaming’s great characters. Surprisingly, though, he didn’t make it into the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot. However, he features heavily in the sequel and it’s great to have him back.

Learn How To Draw Call Of Duty Characters

If you are a fan of the popular video game series Call of Duty and want to learn how to draw your favorite characters, you’re in the right place! In this step-by-step guide, we will teach you the basics of drawing Call of Duty characters.

Materials Needed:

  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Drawing paper
  • Colored pencils or markers (optional)

Step 1: Choose a Character

Start by selecting a Call of Duty character that you would like to draw. It can be one of the iconic characters from the game, such as Captain Price or Ghost, or any other character that you find interesting.

Step 2: Gather Reference Images

Look for reference images of your chosen character. You can find these images online or in game art books. Having a reference image will help you understand the character’s proportions and details.

Step 3: Basic Sketch

Start by sketching the basic shapes that make up the character’s body. Use simple geometric shapes like circles, ovals, and rectangles to create the main parts of the character’s body, such as the head, torso, and limbs. This will help you establish the overall pose and proportion of the character.

Step 4: Refine the Details

Once you have the basic shapes in place, start adding more details to your drawing. Pay attention to the character’s facial features, clothing, and accessories. Use light, confident strokes to define the shapes and features of the character.

Step 5: Add Shadows and Highlights

To make your drawing look more three-dimensional, add shading to create shadows and highlights. Think about the direction of the light source and how it would interact with the character’s features. Use darker shades for the shadowed areas and lighter shades for the highlighted areas.

Step 6: Clean Up Your Drawing

Erase any unnecessary lines and smudges to clean up your drawing. You can also use the eraser to lighten or adjust any shading that may be too dark.

Step 7: Optional Coloring

If you want to add color to your drawing, you can use colored pencils or markers. Look at the character’s reference image to determine the colors of their clothing and accessories. Use smooth, even strokes for coloring.

Step 8: Practice and Experiment

Drawing is a skill that improves with practice, so don’t be discouraged if your first attempt doesn’t turn out perfectly. Keep practicing and experimenting with different techniques to refine your drawing skills.

Remember to have fun and enjoy the process of creating your favorite Call of Duty characters on paper. With time and practice, you will be able to draw them with ease!

Games: World at War, Black Ops, Black Ops 2

Victor Reznov was a selfless character, who always acted in the best interests of those around him. His relationships with Dimitri Petrenko and Alex Mason are both key parts of the first two games in the Black Ops series, and Reznov acts as a key building block in establishing the connection between World at War and the Black Ops games.

Reznov is a true leader and explores plenty of warzones alongside Mason within the game, creating some of the most fun missions to play. Not to mention, he was voiced by the legendary Gary Oldman, which helped create an incredible and distinct voice that very few will forget in a hurry.
